HEPA material and activated carbon are mass produced, so it makes sense to save some money by choosing something that's probably "just as good". After installing this filter, I noticed that my Winix 5500-2 was having some issues, to the point where I could smell "burning". I replaced the filter with the original Winix filter and not only has the airflow increased significantly, but the smell of burning has gone. Maybe I'm stupid?
