Review on 🚲 Schwinn Insight LED Lighted ERT Youth/Adult Bike Helmet, Head Circumferences 54-62 cm, Sizing Guide, Multiple Color Options by Tim Blandin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent visibility at any time of the day or night. Good lighting effects.

Media could not be loaded. I chose fluorescent yellow green as it is the safest color on the road. Have a safety vest of the same color and they match roughly on the same spectrum. I have also worn the Schwinn Insight ERT on a recumbent trike without a vest and I think the life vest helps make it more visible during the day or at sunset. At night, the paint is useless, and Schwinn didn't include any safety reflectors or pullers. - I recommend putting reflective material on all sides of the helmet. One thing I miss is the lack of a 4 magnet face shield as an option which I have from another helmet. However, I will say that the Schwinn fit, straps, and adjustment are far better than any bike helmet I've had in the last 20+ years. I have a large oval head between 61cm and 62cm. The shoulder straps have plenty of room to adjust and the fit is much more comfortable than other well known brands I've had. The internal waffle shock absorbers are noticeable when flipping the helmet over and feel quite secure. When wearing I don't notice them unless I press and move the helmet. The strap is wide enough, the clasp snaps in well, doesn't sag. Impressed there. On the back of the helmet is an adjustment knob the size of a 25 cent coin. It is not known what battery size or how long the LEDs will blink for each of the settings. I know LEDs last 1 1/2 hours of continuous use. I've had feedback and positive feedback on the helmet while riding at local parks, especially after the sun has gone down. Those driving home will notice that the LEDs are noticeable even from a quarter mile away. The battery is charging slowly. Inside the case are two spring-loaded pins that make contact with two small square pads under the helmet. This property is one way only. Getting both corners even and deep enough to drop the smaller end with the locking clasp can be frustrating. It takes a few tries to get used to the feel of putting it back in the helmet. Not sure if Schwinn offers additional battery/LED cases as a separate purchase for long trips. I will add that the case is not waterproof and not resistant as is the case with the reception. There is a gap where the probes come out which can get wet. The consumer may wish to purchase a small tube of silicone sealant to correct possible water damage to the internal workings of the case. The Schwinn Insight LED Lighted ERT helmet also rides well on a recreational recumbent bike. Don't miss the lack of a magnetic face shield on the front for more protection from the sun and bugs. I had no problem wearing the goggles with a helmet or adjustment straps. The helmet fits very well with many neck straps. Without a doubt, I recommend this Schwinn Insight LED Lighted ERT for both day and night use.
