I ran for a $4 ruler because I remember when wooden rulers were solid. It couldn't be cheaper or more fragile. It is in the nth extent from the cork oak. And "plastic edges to keep the lines clear" - perhaps a thin layer of acrylic was sprayed onto the ruler. That's all. I found a good cork backed metal for $1.97. I just found out that the seller does not accept returns on this crappy item!
