Review on ๐Ÿš— Bosch Automotive 6001C HEPA Cabin Air Filter for Cadillac Escalade, EXT Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe GMC Sierra, Yukon XL Vehicles by Bill Dahl

The thin cardboard frame is disappointing.

I read a review here that said it didn't fit the Mini R53 (2002-2006) but according to the manufacturer it was correct so I bought it. I've bought a lot of Bosch replacement parts for my Mini in the past, so I trusted the name, and it's about 1/3 the OEM cost. When I opened the package I was immediately disappointed. The OEM filter has a flexible plastic frame that remains rigid when installed in the cabin. In this case, it takes a lot of fiddling to use it properly. (Ignore if drain.) This Bosch filter has a cardboard frame and is flexible straight out of the box. So not only does it look and feel cheap, but its lack of stiffness makes it a monumental pain to fit into an already compressible cabin air filter slot. Trick in the window to set the filter properly. In the end I won but now I understand why another review says it doesn't fit. It was a complete pain because he is so fragile. I wouldn't recommend this filter unless you're a punishment eater. As for filtering, it looks like it will get the job done. The filter paper had an appearance similar to OEM.TL;DR. It will fit any year's Mini R53, but it's a flimsy piece, not up to OEM quality, fit and finish, and will take a lot of fiddling to install properly.
