This is a powerful yet simple device that can meet any need. I first purchased this item to expand my wireless internet service. He does that very well. It loses all functionality and becomes a bridge or slave for my main router and wifi. It can also act as a standalone wireless internet for others, like your kids, who never turn off their computers. It also has a guest setting that can be toggled on and off. I highly recommend this device. It works right out of the box. IMPORTANT NOTE. You can connect your Lynksys router over its network by creating an online account. I decided against it. I am not happy that they have communication and information in my network. I'm just not built that way (no pun intended).
