Review on Bilstein 24-187169 5100 Series Rear Shock - Nissan Xterra 4WD, Black - Enhanced SEO by John Mahfood

I installed these shocks about 6 months ago along with new 5100 series front shocks. Judging by the reviews they are a bit stiffer. I'm not sure if I'm used to riding or if they're less stiff, but they seem to be working better now. One thing I read was that they didn't fit the mount as tightly as they should, unfortunately that's an accurate statement. I tightened the fasteners several times to try and eliminate minor rattles. Landing feels tight until you're driving over rough roads, at which point you can hear a clatter. The inner sleeve could probably be 0.005-0.010 inches tighter (I wouldn't mind using a hammer to install it). Repeated tightening kept the noise to a minimum, but I'm pretty sure I exceeded the torque specifications given by the automaker.
