It's hard to know what to say in a review about such simple, basic things that everyone uses every day as this set. But since the company politely requested this review both via email and post, I'll try. First off, while it's not the thickest, most luxurious set you'll ever find, oven mitts and oven mitts are thick enough to get the job done and thin enough to be more flexible than the "more expensive" ones. And that's a definite plus when you're working with heavy hot pans and casseroles in hot and uncomfortable places like ovens. Towels are as absorbent as they should be, which oddly isn't as common as you'd expect. And the drying mat is a good size and absorbent. But what I particularly like is that it doesn't have very little or no lather. (Foam-lined rugs are fine for heavier items, but intuitively can create very unstable surfaces for brittle crystal and the like.) This isn't the set I would buy if I wanted to impress the Astors, but I don't. This is a great set for everyday use.
