Review on ๐ŸŽถ SUCA-AUDIO Tube-T1 Preamplifier: Mini Hi-Fi Vacuum Tube Amplifier with Treble & Bass Tone Control for Home Audio Player (6K4 Tubes) by James Wing

Strange tone curve, save money.

I really wish I would like this article as my Nobsound 6P1 doesn't have tone controls but that's not the answer. First of all lamp sockets are bullshit, it was almost impossible to get the tubes into the actual socket holes without pushing them into the soft plastic and bending the pins where they were clipped to the side of the metal contact holes. Fake LED lighting for lamps has really made them even cheaper. Now we come to the important part, the sound. This resulted in weird overtones in the bass that ruined the 6P1's sound. I've read a lot of reviews saying the tubes that come with them sound bad, so I also ordered some GE JAN 5654W tubes, people said they sound better. I think it may have been a little better, but it still sounds bad compared to a CD deck plugged directly into the AMP. The bulbs have barely warmed up after 30 minutes of operation, so I'm wondering if this is a case of reduced voltage bulbs or not. Anyway I sent it back and will look for another solution, maybe build something from scratch. IMHO don't waste your money if you have a good tube amp that can work well in a SS system or between a computer and some speakers with a low frequency setting. It's about what you would expect for $40.
