so i used this to seal my offset smoke leaks it was pretty good and didn't shrink much but i used a lot in case of shrinkage. It has a much higher heat resistance than the red silicone sealants used by everyone and the areas sealed with it paint over well. I sealed the joint between the chimney and the smokebox, sealed the nuts and bolts and also sealed the connection between the firebox and the smokebox, the only spot where it failed or the last spot was in the firebox lid where all the heat went. and exceeded the temperature limits of silicone. I definitely recommend buying at least 2 tubes and massaging a bit before opening to make sure everything is still mixed. I've read people saying they have trouble with chemical separation in tubes, saying it's difficult, or blowing out the tube, in which case try pushing up from the bottom and rolling up the tube as you do so.
