I received the project and thought it would take a week (and I'm fine). It only took a day to just walk past it, sit down and punch out a page of instructions. You must read the instructions! It's really important. It is recommended to first read and feel all the instructions from start to finish and then follow them step by step. Don't do it in one place. However, some instructions are confusing. For example, on page 7 of the instructions it is implied that you need to glue two C16 gears together. There is "1" and "2" and you should NOT do that. They just use a C16 gear and glue it to the bottom gear which is unidentified. If you read on you will find that a different C16 is used elsewhere. So the instructions need some explanation. Too much is made "symbolic" and confusing. Also pay attention to the "waxing” and "gluing” hints and make sure you understand them. My personal belief is that this is the source of some complaints about gears not working properly. My work is perfect. But it's a great project and I've gotten a lot of compliments on the clock that hangs on my office wall. I highly recommend it for advanced model builders, but it has a certain level of difficulty.
