Relieves long range shots

I fired the Kestrel Elite for the first time today and couldn't believe how well it worked. A friend brought a new rifle and a new scope and we set them at 100 yards and from there we kept going up to the maximum 600 yard range that the steel targets were set at. He fired and I acted as observer and arranged for the turret to be leveled. Considering the rifle and scope were new, and the ammo info came from the loadout library rather than previous experience, it was quite remarkable to keep switching to the next additional target. and effortless sounding steel. At 600 yards, he was able to consistently hit the 24" and 12" targets more than half the time. Just in case, I brought a printed ballistics chart for the load and ended up completely ignoring it. That was somewhat at odds with Kestrel's solutions and wouldn't have helped upwind anyway. In the future I will no longer bother with printed tables. One annoying limitation is that you can't connect a phone and a laser rangefinder at the same time, as these require the Kestrel Bluetooth radio to be in a carefree mode of operation. I also have a Bushnell Elite 1 Mile CONX rangefinder that can send distance and angle information to the Kestrel, but then the Kestrel Link app on my iPhone is unable to communicate with the Kestrel. I find it better to aim the laser at the target and enter the range and tilt information manually. As for Bluetooth connection issues that people have reported, I've only encountered one case. I once had the iOS Kestrel Link app crash when trying to transfer a gun library to Kestrel and after that the app wouldn't connect even after restarting. I then turned Bluetooth off and on again on the Kestrel and the issue was resolved. I suspect restarting Kestrel would have given the same result. In general, I am very satisfied with the system. Watching YouTube videos of the Kestrel and Panhandle Precision was very helpful to get started. There are many features that I haven't tried yet, but the device is already an important piece of equipment in my bag for the future. Update: I should add that I've tried shooting 600-yard targets, scoring holds, and using paper ballistics before. tables. I can't remember every hit.
