I need to replace my upper control arms on my 2007 Chevy 1500 Silverado Classic 4wd. I originally considered just replacing the bushings and ball joints, but given the cost of a good kit of parts + the cost of pressing in, I decided to go the quick and easy route with this kit. The more accurately you mark your cams and studs before removing the existing ones the better (assuming your truck was leveled beforehand). For the average home mechanic, this job shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes per side. I read many complaints before ordering that the part didn't fit properly, many found a difference of 1/4" to 3/8" from stock and were unsure how big the problem would be. And yes, I actually experienced that. It didn't take long to find out that there was some "give" and that simply tucking in one side was slightly warped, along with a few gentle taps with a rubber mallet on the opposite side to set it perfectly. Obviously nobody wants the upper arm to be so loose that it dangles, so assume the tension was intentional. great now. The truck drives much better again and no longer knocks.
