Review on ๐ŸŽฃ Tamiami Sleeve Fishing Columbia Men's Shirts - Collegiate Clothing by Timothy Hughes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My favorite shirts for weekends and outdoor activities

I've worn smelly synthetic shirts for years while hiking, kayaking, camping etc. but that doesn't mean you like it. Then I discovered merino wool shirts that changed the game - the 150 weight is supremely comfortable in hot or cold weather and resists rot like no other, even after 2-3 days in the woods. But after spending so much on a t-shirt, you'll be shocked at the durability. Wool shirts are not as durable. I chose Columbia Tamiami/Silver Ridge/etc. Shirts for several reasons, none of which disappointed: 1. Pockets. You won't miss them until you have them. 2. UPF protection. Natural fibers just don't block the sun like synthetics do, and Columbia shirts have excellent UPF protection.3. Durability. These shirts are much more durable than synthetics, especially if you're carrying a backpack and have a lot of contact surfaces.4. Style. Okay, so it's not high on my list of requirements, but it's nice to have a shirt to wear around town or in the woods when the need arises. A good range of plain and plaid fabrics cover the base. What really surprised me were two things: 1. These shirts are amazingly comfortable, especially in warm weather. They absorb moisture very well and I think the UPF rating helps reflect a lot of the sun. They've done really well in the hot and muggy North Carolina summer, from the mountains to the beach. The antimicrobial coating works very well. This has historically been a disappointment with other plastics that have historically been advertised as antimicrobial, but they work very well and keep odors at bay. Maybe not as good as wool, but much, much better than most synthetic fabrics. These shirts tend to run half a size larger and I decided it was better to go down a size from my standard size (I chose M over L and have taken L all my life). There was a good fit that looked good and felt great.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • So so
