I don't know what anyone was thinking when they designed this. that seems easy enough, but apparently not. So it's just an empty cube with plastic slots on top. There is nothing but this. So when you insert the knife it dangles because nothing is really holding it. If a knife is in a different slot (you can't use slots next to each other as each knife handle is too large), the tension caused by multiple blades will help hold it. But as soon as you take one out, the others fall. I was planning on using this for my ceramic knives but obviously I won't as they are brittle and I don't want them to fall out.
