A while back I lost my desoldering pump because it was unused and had to be replaced. They were great pumps, the first thing I did was test the suction on my finger and they held up well. The ones I used worked very well for what these pumps do. I have never used a desoldering wick and have found this to be my preferred method of desoldering now. It was very easy to use as I used it to remove solder residue from the pump. I quickly learned not to leave it in one place for too long or it will stick to it. Other than that, I love this stuff. For the record, my job was to replace the fuel pump relay on the fuse panel for the car. With these items everything went well and fairly quickly.
