Bought for wicks.

desoldering pumps, but I didn't need three wick spools either, which I found at the time and was also cheaper. So I thought I'd take the one with the pumps. The wick is perfect and if you have never used it for desoldering. It should be. The pumps work well and are good for removing large blobs of solder around the vias. This is good value for money.

Seem cheap but work well

The aluminum tube is pretty thin and doesn't match the blue plastic backplate 100%. I also have doubts that the white plastic head will stand up to heavy use. However, the fact that you get three of these and that the spring mechanism is reliable makes this a good buy for those looking for a cheap yet efficient pump. Also, there are fewer wicks than each reel, so remember that the main value of this purchase is in the pumps.

I have used the same 3 suction cups for a year and 4 months and they are still working.

I bought these suction cups with a bit of skepticism based on some of the reviews. For a year and 4 months none of them let me down. I just finished 1 before this review. They get the job done and I've used them on a variety of projects from replacing mouse switches to replacing analog sticks on game controllers to replacing capacitors. Good value for money

A while back I lost my desoldering pump because it was unused and had to be replaced. They were great pumps, the first thing I did was test the suction on my finger and they held up well. The ones I used worked very well for what these pumps do. I have never used a desoldering wick and have found this to be my preferred method of desoldering now.
