Instructions seem almost backwards. It means turning the knob to 7 (and it only goes to 6) and the light comes on. Let me know it's warmed up enough to pour out the batter. I turned it all the way on and it barely got hot. I could put my hand on a plate and not even feel a tingle. I turned the knob the other way (to 1), the light went out but the plates got hot. The waffles were good. And I liked that it beeped when it was done. Only loud when I was on top of the car but when I was in the next room it was the perfect volume. However, when all the waffles were over, it was time to clean the car. This is where it got interesting. The side of the machines where the overflowing batter was dripping was almost impossible to clean. I was careful not to go crazy about the dough, but about those bits that seem to have gone into every nook and cranny of the car. And since I couldn't take the car apart (non-removable panels), I couldn't clean the rest of the car without scratching it. I've only used it once but I don't think I'll use it again. It seems the next time I warm up the machine. all the trim and streaks on the typewriter just weld even more into the typewriter. Bad news. Now I can't get it back because it's too late. :( Next time I will definitely BUY WITH DETACHABLE PANELS.
