After reading all the great reviews I was surprised at the poor quality. I washed it as soon as I received it before giving it to my ferret. I washed it in a pillowcase on a gentle cycle to avoid damaging it. However, after pulling it out, one flap turned out to be completely unsewn. Gently ONCE after washing. Well, I can sew, so I fixed it myself. Gave it to my ferret, came back and checked an hour later and she chewed off most of a band-aid. Up to this point she had not chewed a handkerchief. Not sure what it was about that hammock. Luckily she passed whatever she ate with no problems, but please keep an eye on your ferrets if you are unsure of their chewing habits! I think the flaps hanging over it encourage chewing.
