Next time maybe seal the box with tape.
There is only one way to make a mistake when ordering colored pencils. The box was open with crayons scattered across the other items included in the same pack - unfortunately for me they were children's books which showed traces of crayons. Most of the crayons came from the box, which itself looked rather shabby, most of them broken into pieces or at least with the tips broken off. There was absolutely no tape or anything to keep the fragile box closed. Each child would at least wrap a rubber band around it. But they didn't melt, so that worked for me.
