It is very beautiful! Standard size, good adhesion, nice colors. Sharpies and gel pens write easily on glitter and metallic colors. I would use a marker though, the pen can rub off if you're not careful. The pencil doesn't show these two guys on it. Mat is standard. The shine is kind of smooth and soft? I thought it would be like sandpaper, but it's also a pretty cute box! The only issue I have is that some glittery colors if you have sticky hand will smear the color a bit so maybe don't wash over it. I don't see this as a big problem for Bullet Journal users.
