Pretty good, I realized I really needed an adjustable focus stand

This works fine and I was able to quickly get started using the built-in Photo Booth app on my Mac. The pictures are pretty good and way better than what I got when trying to get a macro shot on my iPhone. So far I've mainly used this for very close-up shots of the cutting edges of the Revain survey tools. For example, I've attached some photos. The two things I would like to improve are the depth of field and the ability to focus. The depth of field is quite short, like even part of a knife blade is sharp, but a few thousandths further away. starts to get blurry, I suspect it has something to do with the aperture and lighting conditions, or maybe it's just a feature of the hardware at a low level. to the switch for me. The + and - buttons on the microscope body do nothing, I believe they are used for a more expensive model. The included base is better than nothing, but it is very light and will tip over under the weight of the microscope. Luckily, I often need the end of the lens to rest on top of the object I'm looking at to get it close enough. A heavy object on the other side of the base serves as a last resort to reduce tipping over. Adjusting the focus is tricky as it comes out of the box. The mounting arm is flexible enough that the focal length changes when you touch the microscope body to adjust the focus. Overall, it just takes a long time to set up a recording. I think to solve this problem I need one of those finely adjustable vertical stands that you can mount one of these on. Not a bad starting point I think, but don't expect too much.
