Review on Mega Construx Pokemon Jumbo Pikachu: Unleash the Power of Pikachu! by Roman Starr

Incredibly charming

Wanted to buy it as soon as I saw it. I've been a passionate Pokémon fan since I was 10 years old and I still get excited every time I buy something Pokémon related. I used to buy Lego sets but never Mega Construx sets. So I was a bit skeptical about the difference in quality control for a less popular/well known brand. But the box arrived in perfect condition, all the stones were in numbered bags and included 2 instruction booklets. They also include a brick splitter (they call it a 9-in-1 tool on their website) which can be really helpful when you're putting two bricks together that are difficult to separate using just your fingers. This was useful for me because I'm in a hurry. It took some time. I didn't time it, but about 2-3 hours, not counting breaks. The whole model is quite heavy. I would say about 2 kilos. It measures just under 13 inches. (if standing with ears straight) This is a very good scale and almost the same scale as the "real" Pikachu which is 16 inches tall. The final assembly is also quite solid. I would not recommend this for younger children unless they have exceptional patience or are at least comfortable with building large sets. Otherwise, working for hours on a project can tire them out a bit. However, if you don't mind your building most (or all) of it, I'd buy it to have by the side of their bed, on a table, or wherever they usually play. I use mine as part of a shelf. All in all I'm in love with this little guy and it would be amazing if Mega Construx introduced more of these giant Pokemon. Maybe the next Evie or maybe one of the starters would be great. Call me weird, but it's like having your own pet Pikachu at home. And what's not to like about it?
