The cable no longer works on my Dyson. I took it to a repair shop and the guy told me it would cost $300 to fix. I said no thanks, went home and jumped to the computer. I found a spool for the line here at Revane and found how difficult it is. This is where I got confused. I've come to the conclusion that dismantling Dyson is more than my salary. This is on the list of honeys to do. With some effort, my husband was able to take it apart and try to fix it. I say "try" because after my husband installed it and put everything back together, we tried it and it didn't work. Contacted Revain and they sent me a new one straight away. This time we tried it before installing it and it worked great. Life lesson, if possible try a new part before reassembling the unit. live and learn
