Over the past year I've gone from never trying real silk pillowcases (because I thought they're not my taste for the price) to having them on every bed in the house. I have several pillowcases of various weights and brands, and while I'm definitely not an expert, I've learned that price doesn't always indicate quality, and I'm looking for 6A silk fiber pillowcases that are 22 or 25m/m. The 6A rating refers to the highest quality extra long silk fibers - unless the product description states that the pillowcase is made from 6A fibres, the silk is of inferior quality regardless of other claims. 19 momme pillowcases look and feel good and I have several but they don't last as long. This pillowcase is made from 6A grade silk fiber and I was pleased to find that it weighs 30m/m which is significantly heavier than my other pillowcases and was interested in trying it out. I've compared this pillowcase to a few others I already have: one is 22momm and costs about the same as this one, and the other is 25momm and costs about $20 more and is really luxurious. This pillowcase is not as heavy as I expected; In fact, I don't feel much difference between it and the 25 momme I already have. The silky fabric of this cushion cover has a beautiful shimmer on the outside, while the inside has a matte charmeuse weave. The weave is not as fine as my most expensive pillowcase and the silk is not as smooth and smooth. However, it compares very well with other pillowcases, feels soft and has a nice drape at a better price. This pillowcase is well made, it's big and fits my pillow very well. Some people prefer the envelope closure, but I like the zipper because I think it keeps the rather slippery pillowcase on the pillow better. While it doesn't have all the attributes of a premium pillowcase, I think the current price of $31.99 (queen size) is very reasonable for a 30 mum and the silk quality and construction are very good. I think it represents good value for money and deserves 4 stars. The pillowcase only arrived packaged in a plastic bag so it will need to be repackaged if you give it as a gift.
