The closer the color is to gray, the better it is.

Odor control claim is bullshit. It is paper that absorbs liquid and nothing else. If the liquid smells like urine, it still smells like urine. I had less than 30 60 liter bags with two litter trained rabbits and this stuff hit the mark. If you take it out and it's gray, it will soak like a sponge. If it's light brown, it's absorbed, but moisture may still remain at the bottom of the dish. If it's dark brown, it's completely useless. It won't absorb most of the liquid.
