According to many reviewers, this product does not plug into an outlet. The pins on the back are too short to go through a standard socket cover. My first disappointment with an APC product. I have several of their products and have always had great results with their products and customer service. PROS: Clean appearance. The protector is attached to the wall without a plug cable. double sockets. This model has 4 sockets. The P4V equipment connects to the sides of the protector, allowing furniture to be pressed firmly against the wall without damaging/bending the cables. CONS: Clear design flaw. My outlets were recently replaced with new standard outlets and covers, so it's not a problem with worn out outlets. The instructions also state that this should be used with at least 30 feet of cord between the outlet and the service box. This model will continue to provide power even if the protection device stops working properly, leaving your equipment vulnerable to surges. When the light is on you are protected, when it is off you are not.
