I was about to use my Dyson vacuum which I've loved so far (battery life isn't great but sucks and cleans well) and I saw a flashing red light. After calling support I was told it was my battery (I followed the care instructions carefully to extend the vacuum's battery life) and that the warranty only covers the motor, note that this vacuum 10.5 months old is . I have two choices: drive 185 miles to a service center or I can pay $108 for a new one, but since I'm under warranty they give me a "generous" 20% discount offer, bringing it down to $83 . Completely ripped off, I asked the rep if he told me that Dyson doesn't even guarantee a product worth more than $300 for a year, to which he replied that it was a minor case and they didn't do anything could. I then asked to speak to his manager who he told me didn't exist, I denied him this claim and he put me on hold. 5 minutes later he came back and told me that his 'manager' who didn't exist before would give me a free disposable battery because it was such an 'extreme' case. I'm glad I got a free battery, but I know that if family members were in the same situation, they would have no choice but to buy this battery at 1/3 the price of the original vacuum cleaner. I will not buy another Dyson and I will make sure no one I know will either. it is not covered."
