My original pads came off and looked pretty bad for a while. I wish the originals wouldn't peel off but I've had them for about 3 years so can't really complain. Finally bought a replacement. I didn't realize how much they affect noise cancellation! If you put off replacing your peeling ones because you think they're still fine, you're probably not having the best experience. Definitely consider replacing yours. I really noticed the difference when I put the replacement in place. I thought about buying third party pads but decided on original Bose replacements here. They took a while to arrive but they came direct from Bose and I got free shipping. Their site requires a minimum purchase amount for free shipping, which was almost impossible to meet when buying replacement pads. Installation was a chore, but once I figured out how to properly snap the pads into place, the second pad was a lot easier. . I recommend watching a YouTube video before attempting to install it yourself. If you're watching this, you probably already know what to expect. Just be prepared to allow 30 (or possibly more) minutes for the installation if you've never done it before.
