Let me say this is a godsend. I have a $25 Klein electric clamp that is very similar to this one, but it works differently. it makes those perfect square crimp pins you see on every car factory connector (if you've ever seen the inside). However, I feel like the jaws are upside down and should have been replaced because the only reason I took a star off for "ease of use" (but left the overall rating at 5 stars) is because that I have to turn my pliers upside down all the time to get the crimp I want. Now I might be doing something wrong, but I've worked in automotive electronics for a while and have used LOTS of different crimping tools. They work well for straight, flat crimps with no twisting required. to crimp a connector, the gauge of wire used in most automotive applications, and again this is just my experience, is sized so that the bottom of the connector does not have to face up the first time you crimp (I always flip it over and give it a second crimp to make them look perfect) otherwise you will end up with a crimped connector. But if you know one thing, they are beautiful. They are ratchet and the release is like any other ratchet crimp tool so you can't put pressure on the tool and expect it to loosen. You'll either have to release it while pressing a little more, or go through the entire crimp for it to reset the jaws. Generally though, they make nice crimps that look like factory and hold tighter than the actual wire they're attached to. Just as good as soldering, IMHO.
