Review on 🐠 Efficient Aquarium Gravel Vacuum Cleaner for Fish Tank Water Changing and Gravel Cleaning - ZA05 by Brandi Davis

Great for cleaning gravel but the tube is not very good

I'm the first! So I bought it because of the price and the fact that it looks like any other gun gravel cleaner. It works as designed, the diameter of the pipe is very small, so the flow of water has a high speed, but with a small volume. It's hard to explain, but it's like a pressure washer - the amount (gallons per minute - GPM) is equal to or less than the hose it's connected to, but the pressure and speed (water exit rate) are higher. Basically, if the speed of the water increases as the pressure increases, you get double the speed. What does it all mean? This means it does an excellent job of pulling out the gravel and all the droppings left behind by the fish without filling the bucket with water too quickly. ! The area you can clean at one time is smaller, but it does a REALLY good job picking up dirt/debris - so get one if you intend to use it to deep clean gravel. It's not good at draining water quickly - so get it if you want to quickly remove 5 gallons of water for a water change. So why not 5 stars? Two things: First, it's a flexible drain hose: it's too soft and flexible; This allows it to bend and bend. Secondly the clip for attaching the hose to the bucket is useless, luckily I got a really good click from my age old siphon that works wonders. Because the hose is so light and flexible, it dangled and popped out of the bucket as the water drained without a secure clamp. If you're cheap like me I think this is a good price as it's most likely the same as the versions that cost a few bucks more. If you're willing to spend more money, there are definitely better options.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly
