I really like this mat. First, it's thicker than the mats I've used before but not as hard and stiff as some. He is very malleable. It doesn't move but stays in place very well. I've accidentally burned a lot of rugs, but this one is very heat resistant. I've accidentally put a hot pan on it and it hasn't worn at all. I cleaned it well before using it and the first time I had to bake it it worked really well. So far nothing has stuck to it, including several types of bread dough with varying degrees of stickiness. I also forgot and sliced some fruit on it. There were no knife marks on him at all. So far I can't find a reason not to like it, which is great. It's huge and I really love that part! I am as happy as can be with this rug! My son the chef came to visit and he liked it so I order for him for his birthday. I can't say more.
