Stopped working after a few days

I spent about an hour replacing my old noisy clock mechanism with this new one. It worked for a day or two and then stopped. It comes to life when I move the hands of the clock, but after an hour it dies again. I won't try to return it as I threw away all the watch hands that came with it and don't want to waste time taking the watch apart again. My advice to anyone considering this or similar $10 options is if it's a replacement it's easier to buy an assembled $13 watch and not waste your time. Of course, if it's a hobby or you have free time, try your luck.
