Review on πŸ“Έ PowerVision PowerRay Explorer: 4K UHD Camera Drone for Diving and Boating by David Sidman

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This product has several problems, don't waste your money.

This is the first of 5 Power Rays I have purchased. My first was sent back because the retaining screw on the power ray was not sealed. This is an obvious flaw when it's appropriate and I can't believe they don't have easy quality control procedures to turn these caps down or even watch them when they're boxed. Especially since this is such an important form of water protection for the device and they emphasize the importance of keeping water out of this area. There is another customer who presented this in their review. I believe that was what I sent back and they repackaged it and shipped as new. Thank goodness I bought it through Revain because they were happy to replace it with a new one. My second build and run looked fine. On my first dive with it, sand, rocks and sediment got into the VTH motor and blocked the propeller. There is no shielding or shielding to protect this motor and propeller and it will be instantly damaged if used on a beach, river or lake. In addition, the nut holding the support simply fell off, again realizing it was useless. My third Power Ray had issues with the controller not communicating with the drone and sometimes doing the opposite and sometimes just doing something else. It's not easy for a human and takes some time to get used to and it just adds another layer of frustration. When I sent my Power Ray in for service they sent me another crappy refurbished one that had its own issues. They told me it was tested and met all internal specs, but it doesn't work when it gets to the end user. The app does not work with the iPhone X and can only be used partially with the 7 series. These and many other problems have been reported to the company who have yet to provide me with a new working Power Ray. I don't think the other 5 stars are correct. Power Ray isn't cheap and you expect it to be a working product and the company supports their product, but it isn't.
