These are the same inserts used on the tailgate of 2014-2018 (and 2019 "classic") GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado models to secure the inner lid panel to keep. Might work for other years - I can only confirm this K2XX platform since I have it. I had to swap the back door. I've tried pulling them out of the original tailgate but doing so will damage them so they won't fit properly in the hole. Instead I just bought them and they are exactly the same as OEM.
