Review on Shinar Generation Outlet Wall Mount Home Audio and Home Audio Accessories by Stephanie Burgos

It works IF you sacrifice the second output, otherwise it sags, the echo can be knocked out

I like it, but not as much as I expected. I use this mount in my bathroom to listen to music or news while showering or when I'm feeling unwell. The Gen 4 Dot sat precariously on my windowsill and I wanted a better option so I gave it a try. In general, this holder is made of high-quality plastic. It holds the Dot power adapter and twisted pair cable (fairly tight grip) while staying tidy. The tip has a small tray that it can fit in, but it can still be folded over with little effort, which I find far from ideal. The design with the power adapter on top is clearly designed to connect to the top socket in the outlet and also cover the bottom one. When used in a bottom outlet (like mine) the whole thing hangs at an angle. I was able to fix this by gluing a piece of plastic to the underside of the back panel to keep it off the wall a bit. I don't want to give up all my electrical access to other things in my bathroom just to get my Echo installed! There are other mounts that fix the design flaws of this device very effectively, although they are typically 30% to 50% more expensive. Looking back, I think getting a better mount is worth a few bucks more. I could do this work for myself, but I didn't have to. If the manufacturer would reconsider the design a bit, I think the shortcomings could easily be fixed in a future version. The bottom line for me is that it works, but not as well as I expected. Not that I modified it, I'm happy with it, but I think it only deserves 3 stars because of that. Spend a little more and get a more secure mount.

Cons
