My young shih tzu calmly rides in his basket in the car and is content to snooze or watch the world go by. His new sister, also 1-2 years old, a terrier mix of the same size, is exactly what you would expect from a terrier- hyper and curious and pretty sure all those things outside the car need her attention. I knew she would have to be restrained in the car (both for safety and because a Jack Russell predecessor of hers once jumped out the window of our van), but she just about hung herself from the safety tether in the cute little box carseat for less insane pets. 🤦🏽‍♀️ With this harness and the handy buckle that goes right into the seatbelt receiver, she can sit in the seat, jump down to the floorboard and stand up to see out the window but NOT run all over the car or jump into my lap while I’m driving (or out the window) or accidentally harm herself or her brother.
