The first time I used the pan I noticed a slight smell, but I put it back to work being done right in front of our apartment. However, this evening I boiled water twice for about 15 minutes and my wife and I noticed a terrible smell. We realized it came out of the pot. The plastic handle showed slight traces of melting. We opened the windows, threw out the pan and had to leave the rooms closest to the kitchen. My wife and I were allergic to the smell. The foreman from our house was called because the neighbor thought it was a fire. After three hours, the smell is still intense. I believe that prolonged use of this beautiful but poorly finished pot can be harmful to your health. Buy it at your own risk and that of your family.
