These heavy metals can damage the brain and kidneys, among other things. Half of the metals leave the body after about 20 years. According to a CR study, this Solgar brand contains almost no heavy metals. Some of the other proteins I've used have caused stomach upset due to too much lactose. It's not easy for the stomach. It also tastes good. I intend to become a longtime fan and reward this company for being responsible and looking after their customers before others are "caught in the act" due to negligence.
