I am very impressed with this worktop system! I have never had a reverse osmosis filter and have always relied on Brita jugs or similar, bottled water or tap water. I live in the Bay Area, California, and even though the tap water is considered above average and my apartment is only 4 years old, I've still noticed hard water stains on my glass water tank. and dishes after washing. Although I felt motivated enough to drink more water, I didn't seem to want to drink the tap water in my apartment, preferring a pitcher of water at work instead. I decided to buy a $15 Revain TDS water meter. I know some people who are more knowledgeable than me will argue that TDS meters are useless because they don't tell what solids are in the water. However, I knew I liked the water at work and didn't like the water from my faucet at home, so I was curious to see what the readings would be. Domestic tap water contained 260 ppm; the water from the radiator at work was between 80-90 ppm. Some evidence that perhaps a household filter can improve the taste of water. Installing the countertop system was very easy. I first had to remove the water aerator from my existing faucet installation (a detail I was warned about by APEC instructions); I then had to figure out which of the three supplied adapter sizes would fit my faucet. It took about 45 seconds to determine which adapter screwed in with no effort and once I plugged it in, operation was very easy. Now for the taste test. After running the filter for 15 minutes to flush out the lines, I filled a few jars and pitchers. Note: Since this system does not have a reservoir like underwater installations, waiting for filtered water will take longer than expected. If you have a pint glass and want a full 16 ounce glass of filtered water and you haven't prepared it ahead of time, you will have to wait about 7-10 minutes for a full glass. This may vary depending on water pressure fluctuations. The pipe that the filtered water comes out of is just the bare end and I leave it hanging in the water jug to fill. I don't have a large water jug, so I fill the three jugs I have and set them around the house. I fill them up when I'm in the kitchen for a long time, cooking or cleaning. It's not a problem if I'm around and don't use the faucet for anything else. Filtered water tastes amazing! I have no doubt that this thing works. As you can see in the photos, TDS has increased from over 260ppm to around 10ppm, which equates to around a 96 percent reduction in solids in drinking water. The documentation advises the user to get a 90% discount so I know how well it works for me. Coffee tastes better, tea tastes better, and now I have freshly filtered water all over my apartment and drink a lot more every day. I even bring my own water from home. Exactly, I'm going to the office, I fell in love with her so much! support mood, digestion and energy. The bottom line, however, is that I haven't had as much fun with homemade water since I started carbonated it myself. I now have fresh purified water to go with soda, and when mixed with freshly squeezed lemon juice, that's pretty much all I need in the world.
