Review on 🚴 SHIMANO M375 Post Mount Brake Caliper Black 2016 - High Performance Brake Caliper for Enhanced Cycling Experience by Michael Hellewell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Upgraded these disc brakes on a bike that originally came with V-brakes and unused IS mounts. So far, so good.

My 26-inch mountain bike originally only had V-brakes. So if you want to upgrade to disc brakes, make sure: 1. You have a fork (if these brakes are installed at the front) and/or frame (if these brakes are installed at the rear) with IS disc brake mounts. Many cheap old mountain bikes don't have disc brake mounts. 2. You can mount a brake disc on your existing front and/or rear wheel. My old wheels were not compatible with disc brakes at all. So I had to buy an "ALEX Z1000 QR 6-BOLT" front wheel for $35.3. That you have a 160mm rotor that is compatible with your wheel. I bought a Shimano SM-RT56 *6 bolt* 160mm rotor for $13 and used it with these calipers.too short The cable is $2. cable) = $70. If you don't already have a frame and/or fork with IS disc brake mounts, I would recommend just getting a new bike with disc brakes. They cost around $150.
