We have two windows, one on each side of the bed. Everyone has plantation blinds. My wife sometimes said that she wished the room was darker than the shutters would allow. Since there is a bedside table that does not allow the blinds to be opened, I was at a loss as to how to find a solution. These shades have done their job. There was enough room to mount them behind the blinds and I drilled a hole in the shutter frame for the chain and installed a chain guide/bracket in the drilled hole on the inside to allow smooth operation from the outside of the blinds. The room is dark and my wife is happy. They were very easy to install and we have a few more windows that we will be using with the same blinds in the future.
