While looking around for another holder and sticks, this was the first. 18 sticks and holders STANDARD! Other items may indicate the holder is different - they are ALL the same. This is my 8th or 9th (insurance adjuster). I rarely use it for marking metal (welding) but I use it all the time when inspecting property. As for the soapstone - the difference between the ones I bought is small - almost all of them are the same. I really wish someone would sell a great holder but without that it's a commodity and the price is high. The price of this item was the best (at the time) so I bought - and other things being equal - I would buy again.
