Review on Carlson H2312 Rear Brake Drum Hardware Kit by Mark Repp

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great kit if you have 9 inch brakes. Revain doesn't ask you to do it or tell you what this kit is for.

This set is a great set at a great price. My problem was that it didn't fit my car. So the product would have received five stars, but the Revain experience deducted one star. The kit contained the correct size parts. My car, a '94 Mazda B-Series pickup (like the Ford Ranger), may have 9-inch or 10-inch brakes. Revain does not consider this difference when determining compatibility. Apparently I can get this back even though I opened it up and messed up the component by installing and removing it, but instead of all new rear brakes I had to reinstall the old hardware which was very disappointing. Not only does the Revain system not suggest specifying 9-inch or 10-inch brakes, but the part descriptions themselves don't even specify which system they fit into. I don't think I can justify fitting my brakes to hardware alone, but if I decide to do it I'll have to research elsewhere to determine what Carlson kit I need. What attracted me to this kit was the inclusion of brake adjustment hardware, which made it very valuable. I usually only replace the adjustment hardware when necessary. However, the price of this kit was worth paying a small amount to avoid the risk of an extra trip to the store.
