Review on VTech Connect to Cell DS6771-3 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone - Black/Silver - Enhanced Mobility and Connectivity by Kevin Greer

Good but not great. suitable for mobile phones

Can I return, haven't decided yet. Before I start, let me say that I don't use a cell phone/Bluetooth. For context, I work from home. I often spend several hours a day on the phone. We discuss most of this with my business partner when we discuss workload, action plans, etc. The main reason I bought it was that it came with a headset. I'm upgrading from a SIP phone system (Cisco SPA 525g) and an outrageously expensive Plantronics headset (the headset costs 3x the entire VTech system). I found the range of the headset and phone to be excellent and more than enough to walk anywhere in my home including the garage and my yard. There are a few things I don't like, but overall I'm on the fence right now. There are some pretty basic things that need to be reworked. First, flush-mounted keys feel weird. I suppose they're trying to give it a touchscreen look, but I don't want that. I like the individual raised buttons. I know it's just a whiny complaint. The headset works well, I have to discuss the talk time, I haven't used it enough yet, but believe me I will. I'm not happy with the way it sits in my ear. I can't get it for sure. I have a problem, it's the phone book. They really missed them. It's terrible. it takes forever to scroll back and forth (sorry, up and down). and when you use the keys to search for an entry, it pauses for a very long time before searching for entries. ADVANTAGES: The range is large. The phones will be charged for a long time. The phone book is centralized (enter it once and it's pushed to all phones). Although for a family of several people it can be disadvantages. The volume on the headset is very good. CONS The keys are flush, it sounds silly but it's annoying. reminds me of something from the 90's The backlight is dim and I can't change it The mute button on the headset is in a very awkward position The button for the headset is hard to find when wearing it. You really need more power on this one. it is very rude
