'Made in Germany' is clearly written on the side and 'MADE IN CHINA' on the pocket. The item has not been used much but appears to be in good condition. It's lightweight, unlike cheap plastics. Up to 30x likes. I would say close. It's definitely better than the 10x I have and the focus range isn't terrible. Bad upgrade in a month or as it is widely used in a machine shop environment.
