Okay, maybe 100 pounds was too much for what I needed. They work great and are a bit stiff. I have a very heavy GRP/metal trunk lid. You climb effortlessly. A bit difficult to close, I think I'll take the 85lbs for the cover and save them for the barn windows which are 98lbs each.
