Review on Regalo Extra Tall And Wide 2-In-1 Stairway And Hallway Wall Mounted Baby Gate, Bonus Kit, Includes Banister And Wall Mounting Kit by Joseph Morris

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Frustrating and disappointing

The gate was very difficult to install by myself on the stairs, I ended up needing help, and the directions weren’t very clear. I can’t speak to the sturdiness as my kids don’t really mess much with the gate, but it is not very easy to use. Regalo had a really well designed gate that goes with a panel set they sell, but it’s clear they didn’t draw inspiration from that for this gate. You have to line up the top and bottom posts of the gate while lifting up, then lower them into the holes at the same time. The gate doesn’t lift up and down easily, it jerks when you try to lift or extend it across the space, and it doesn’t operate easily with one hand, which is a pain when dealing with carrying little ones up or down the stairs. One of the two gates I ordered came with a bent housing piece, so lining up the gate to close it is especially difficult and frustrating. I tried to bend it into place with channel locks but I was unsuccessful. I would not order this gate again. Since I already returned one set of gates that didn’t fit the bannister on my stairs, and I had to drill holes in the wall for this one, I won’t be returning this gate, but I’m really disappointed, my other Regalo products have been so much better than this one.
