Used to buy one of the rubber packaging. This is made of very thin plastic. It probably won't offer the same protection, but it's thinner/lighter than rubber. Both options are well done and it really depends on what you want. I'm sticking with it because I wanted a thinner/lighter protection. While it doesn't hold an iPad as securely as a rubber, I MUCH prefer that it doesn't have a large lip running along the edge of the iPad. It's annoying when I write with a pen because I run my hand over it. This crest is much smaller, so it's not as noticeable.
