For the most part this is a great tripod and I have many tripods to compare it to. I like the pros and cons as I see them: Pros: - This tripod is very versatile thanks to its ambidextrous stand that can also be set up at a 90 degree angle. The 90 degree angle is ideal for: * Climbing very close to the ground. This is ideal for macro photography and landscape photography. * Positioning of the camera offset to the legs. This is ideal for all types of photography where tripod legs would otherwise get in the way. - Quick release buckles work well - Overall build quality seems excellent Cons: - It's designed for travel but weighs just under 4 pounds, I'd say it's heavier than those things - It's also larger for a travel tripod - With all legs extended and locked, in sections of the legs bend a little more than we would like. Conclusion: - The main reason why I consider this tripod my mainstay is the very flexible center column. I've attached a photo I took with a tripod, which required me to get very close to the ground and stretch my legs out from the center. I wouldn't be able to get the same angle for photography with most other tripods. - I personally would like to see this tripod in a carbon fiber version. I would be happy about a little less weight!
