Lightweight, durable, easy to carry, great functionality

This was one of my best travel camera purchases. It's lightweight, easy to use, and the adjustable stand position is definitely a huge bonus. I can't wait to pack this item in my bag to go overseas later this year as it is so light and will fit in my bag. I might need another one when I have more cameras on set! Fits perfectly with the Manfrotto 502 video head.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Stability is better than weight

I needed a lightweight tripod for my upcoming photo trip. I spent two weeks researching tripods and knowing this tripod was "heavy" for a travel tripod (about 4 1/2 pounds head) I preferred strength over weight. The B-pillar, which is inclined by 90 degrees, also played a role. I bought a short (2″ long) $10 insert from a major online camera supplier that was made for the 190 series and also bought a $9 vinyl pouch to hold everything I need for the shoot. The original center column is great…

Good tripod, but with some weaknesses.

I ordered this tripod not long ago but unfortunately had to return it. The new M-lock on the legs is actually a pain compared to traditional Manfrott dials. The original dials are so smooth and simple. It only takes a quarter turn to loosen and lengthen the legs. However, with M locks, you need to turn them 2-3 times to loosen and lengthen the legs. Also, the rubber grip on the M locks is very loose. They aren't glued or anything, they slip out easily when you zip up which is very frustrating…

Universal! for camera and photography

For the most part this is a great tripod and I have many tripods to compare it to. I like the pros and cons as I see them: Pros: - This tripod is very versatile thanks to its ambidextrous stand that can also be set up at a 90 degree angle. The 90 degree angle is ideal for: * Climbing very close to the ground. This is ideal for macro photography and landscape photography. * Positioning of the camera offset to the legs. This is ideal for all types of photography where tripod legs would otherwise…
